LimePC M1 is probably the best hit at CES 2008. With a iPod nano size it has however features like Graphics, Audio card, PCI, Ethernet, SATA, USB, Wifi and touch-screen: a complete PC in your pocket even able to run Linux. Based on MPC5121e all-in-one Freescale Semiconductor's chip (society founded from Motorola spin-off in 2004) will be available later in 2008. |

From the Punto Informatico web magazine (and some articles from Giuseppe Cubasia reported there) here below an interesting point of view on the computer or IT specialist role particularly related to the Italian market (list of the articles). The articles present Italian market as an IKEA shop, where big projects and innovations needed to give the country that necessary technologic framework have disappeared. A market with a short perspective, without any tendency and possibility for investments but based on cheapest and easiest solutions (most of the times technically improper and with a short life). |

20 years birthday for .it extension: on 23 December 1987 CNR.it was in fact the first Italian domain registered for the Informatics and Telematics Institute of Pisa National Research Institute (that owns still today the Internet.it register). Italian domains are in the sixth place among the others, requested all over the net also abroad. Italian domains are about 1 million and half as today, even if activation and modification procedures are slower and more bureaucratic than the others. |
