minimig23 December 2007 - MiniMig motherboard, based on the famous Dennis van Weeren project (version 1.1), is finally available. Shipping (for resellers and customers) will take place next January

The MiniMig features an FPGA re-implementation of the A500 chipset with a real 68000 processor onboard and connectors for real Amiga compatible joystick and mouse as well as a PS2 one and a VGA monitor that accepts 31Khz output. A fully working Amiga just in one small chip; a SD memory device instead of a floppy drive; an open project. Are you ready for your portable Amiga?

To run the MiniMig it is necessary to copy on a SD memory card a 1.3 ROM that can be legally obtained from Cloanto's Amiga Forever package (www.amigaforever.com).

16 December 1947: the first transistor

Image On 16 December 1947 in the American Bell laboratories the first Transistor was born: the discovery that changed forever technology and user device world.
This small device is able in fact to transmit the binary (0 / 1) information whose principle is diffused today into computers, mobile phones or just radio television sets and generic electronic tools.

Brattain, Shockley e Bardeen were the three engineers who, thanks to notions dating back to the XX century, solved the physical and technologic problems linked to this approach (that entered the market substituting the alternative bulky 'gas pipes' system).

25 years birthday for Commodore 64

commodore 6425 years ago was created the Commodore 64: a quarter of century for this personal computer reminding so many technoloigic emotions and remembers to an entire generation (that saw from that moment information moving first steps).
Even if its graphic and memory characteristics looks poor related to today's computers and devices, there are still a lot of fan all over the world using this computer, playing its games or just grown up with its program (predecessors of modern ones).

commodore logo With its 17 million prototypes sold (at a price originally of 595 dollars and three time less the other pc) the Commodore 64 is still today the single model computer best sold all over the world.
